How to Bind Your Traxxas Transmitter to the Receiver

Traxxas RC cars and trucks come Ready To Run, which means the transmitter is bound to the receiver at the factory. But things happen, and you might have broken your receiver and needed to buy a new one or your transmitter and receiver just unlinked somehow. If you need to relink your transmitter and receiver or bind new ones together, the process is super easy. All it takes is a few minutes for you to get your Traxxas vehicle back on the track.

What You Will Need

For this process, you will only need three items: the transmitter, the receiver, and a screwdriver. If you don’t already have one on hand or are looking to upgrade your tools, RC Superstore carries a great selection of Traxxas tools and toolkits.

Step 1: Turn the Power Off

Before you get started, you need to make sure the power has been turned off on both the vehicle and the transmitter. The power button for the transmitter can usually be found on the base, and you will need to remove the body from your vehicle to access the power button.

Step 2: Access the Link Button on the Receiver

Depending on the model of your Traxxas vehicle, the link button may already be easily accessible. However, you might have your receiver tucked away in a waterproof box. Use your screwdriver to remove the box lid. You now have access to the link button, but you shouldn’t press it yet.

Step 3: Press and Hold the Set Button on the Transmitter

Locate the set button on your transmitter. It should be along the top. Press and hold this button as you turn the transmitter on. The transmitter’s light should flash. This lets you know it is in bind mode.

Step 4: Press and Hold the Link Button on the Receiver

Next, press and hold the link button on the receiver as you turn on the speed control.

Step 5: Wait for a Solid Green LED

With both the transmitter and receiver turned on and in bind mode, all you need to do is wait. Once they have linked, there will be a solid green LED on each.

Step 6: Enjoy Your Traxxas Vehicle

You have now successfully bound your Traxxas transmitter and receiver, and it’s time to enjoy it. Place the body back on your vehicle, take it out on your favorite track, and easily drive it around twists and turns with your transmitter.
