VXL-3s Power System
Slash's Velineon VXL-3s brushless power system delivers the ultimate in efficiency, speed, and run-time with precise and responsive throttle control. Slash VXL transforms 11.1 volts of 3s LiPo power into 60+ mph speed and tire-scorching acceleration. This is brushless performance done the Traxxas way: brutally fast and easy to use.
Magnum 272R Transmission
The Magnum 272R transmission is built for the hard-hitting torque of Velineon brushless power. The 272R features a blue anodized aluminum motor plate, all-metal gears, and a sealed silicone-filled 4-gear differential. Slash VXL’s extreme HD driveshafts are also strengthened with large-diameter half shafts for increased power handling.
Extreme HD Suspension
Factory-installed Extreme Heavy Duty axle carriers, caster blocks, and steering blocks, are beefed-up with extra material to give Slash VXL ultimate strength and durability. With the addition of HD suspension arms made from Traxxas’ toughest composite material, this is the strongest suspension ever offered in a 2WD Slash.
Clipless Body Mounting
Slash VXL’s clipless body holds firm no matter how rough the racing gets. Heavy-duty latches grip the body tightly, but release in just seconds for fast battery swaps on the pit bench. This convenient hidden latching system replaces traditional body clips with large, reinforced panels to maintain body integrity and resist pull-through damage.

Long-Wheelbase Chassis
Slash VXL's long 13.2'' wheelbase chassis provides superior stability on high-speed straights with over 3.5 inches of ground clearance to prevent bottoming out. The chassis includes drain holes and a battery tray channel for routing servo wires to the receiver.
High Torque Steering Servo
A race truck needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance. The Traxxas 2075 waterproof digital high-torque servo provides precise steering authority and speed for wheel-to-wheel racing in the backyard or on the track.
Short Course Wheels & Tires
Slash VXL's BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A tires have excellent grip in the dirt and just the right amount of slide on pavement. Their authentic scale appearance and realistic performance add to the racing experience. The tires come mounted and pre-glued to 2.2'' Split-Spoke dual-profile SCT wheels.
Adjustable Steel Turnbuckles
Heavy-duty steel turnbuckles allow trackside camber and toe tuning for greater agility and high-speed performance. Captured rod ends provide unmatched durability and they won't pop off during a race.
Torque-Control Slipper Clutch
Semi-metallic pads and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates dissipate heat and provide consistent traction. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment.
All-Metal Internal Gears
The race-ready transmission is built for massive torque with high-strength steel input, idler, and differential gears and large-diameter bearings. The input gear is keyed and press fit onto the top shaft for greater precision and strength than a pin-mounted gear.
Reinforced Transmission Case
The Magnum 272R transmission is engineered for strength and precision with a tough reinforced case. The case halves engage precisely to seal out dirt and debris and create a rigid mounting structure for the motor and suspension arms. A thick 3.2 mm aluminum motor plate creates a rigid backbone for the housing and helps dissipate heat.
Removable Differential
Different track conditions require different levels of grip. Slash VXL makes it easy to change the differential’s locking action by varying the fluid viscosity inside. Disconnect the driveshafts and open the hatch and you’ll be on your way to victory in minutes.
